A beautiful sampler coming from England, Martha Padfield stitched this piece in 1852. The aging linen is in excellent condition and has a border of cotton stitched to the perimeter that was once used for mounting. This cotton does have holes from nails. Butterflies, birds, berry basket and a scene…what’s better!? There is a small repair at the base of the berry basket which appears to have utilized glue that has yellowed over time.
